RD2L Season 21 Team Review

Many of you are probably wondering what made Team Econ finally disband and skip the last 2 weeks of the season.

We had the best player in the division, the sexiest captain, the highest average personal net worth… what could go wrong?

Well, for starters week 3 of the regular season was the last time we actually had our full 5-man roster. That’s right, we’ve needed at least one stand-in for multiple weeks, often needing two subs. At times we almost started matches we 3 subs before one of my players showed up 20 minutes late during the draft. After multiple weeks of being unable to field a team or relying mostly on subs, we finally threw in the towel.

Not even free agent admin rigging could save this team

I’m not one to quit, but I felt it was disrespectful to other teams looking to play to deal with our mess of a squad. I came to the conclusion that I could not confidently guarantee we would have at least 4 of our squad on in any given week, and there was a high chance our opponents would end up missing out on games.

Mirage

I still strongly believe Mirage is the best player in the league. He was disappointed to get drafted to my team, since he hoped to play with Stang this season. Both Stang and I discussed with him that it’s unrealistic that a player of his skill would fall all the way to 7th pick.

Once he got over his initial disappointment, he was an incredible part of our team. Mirage was simply a better player than everyone else in the game, and he tended to dominate from start to finish. Despite being upset about being picked by me he continued to put in the effort to put up wins.

Also, he actually showed up for games.

Kiester Fiester

There you go. My 2nd round pick was upset about laning with a low MMR support and would tilt fairly often. If he thought it was bad playing with low MMR players I can’t imagine what Mirage thought about the other 9 baboons in our games.

I would suggest dodging this guy but he’s banned for the next 3 seasons anyways.

Bluntman

Great PMA player. Was sometimes late to games, but is willing to play anything in any position.

Nightfox

PMA support. Will buy wards and feed.

Gotne

Gotne is not actually a full-time member of our team, but half of our total season wins came with him as a stand-in. That probably says quite a lot about both Gotne as a player and our team.

Econ

I showed up to all our games and occasionally helped our team put up wins.

Also, naming the team The Radiant while using the team tag DIRE and all the standard Dire icons and logos was fucking brilliant. Almost as brilliant as EconHarmony, the #1 Dating Site for Economists. More economists meet other economists on EconHarmony than any other dating site starting with “Econ” and ending in “Harmony.”
